RAMSSES

In the RAMSSES project, Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in cooperation with Damen Gorinchem, InfraCore, Airborne, Evonik Nutrition & Care, BL Interface & Performance and TNO have been developing a 6m high hull section made out of composite material. For this purpose the partners developed an innovative one-shot vacuum infusion process, in which the resin is vertically infused into the laminate system following the shape of the ship's 6-meter high hull. And indeed, it's very challenging to keep the resin flows up until 6 meters. However, after several tests and development of the resin, the partners successfully performed the vertical infusion.
