Modified resins produce more powerful components

Modified resins such as NANOPOX®, NANOCRYL®, ALBIDUR®, ALBIPOX® and ALBIFLEX®  enable the design of more powerful, long-life components.

Reactive resin modifiers made by Evonik improve the impact strength of and reduce fatigue behavior in components. They are used both in fiber-composite components and in the structural adhesives used to join components.

Modified resins are formulation constituents in epoxy resins or vinyl ester resins. They are suitable for use in all forms of manufacturing, from RTM to VARTM, prepreg, or filament winding.

If used as a constituent in resin formulations, these products will help to make components strong and rigid. For example, they allow lighter-weight rotor blades to be built for wind turbines without reducing their capacity. They make airplane and automobile parts much more durable, even when those parts are exposed to greater mechanical strain. They also enable machine parts to be built for heavier loads and sporting goods to be manufactured more robustly and thus offer better performance qualities.

Evonik is currently the world’s only large-scale producer of nano raw materials. Its range of tougheners is based on an innovative concept and products that offer a very impressive price-performance ratio.
